Sky Sonify Solution

After visiting the Lights Out exhibition at the Smithsonian National Museum, I decided to design a website focusing on light pollution. This website enables users, especially individuals who are blind or have low vision, to explore without barriers. It provides comprehensive information about light pollution through detailed graphics and sonification data while raising awareness about environmental issues and encouraging active participation in light pollution prevention.

I designed a website logo featuring three yellow stars forming the Braille letter "S." The name "Sky Sonify Solutions" suggests that the website offers solutions related to light pollution, which aligns well with my goal of providing information about pollution, sky sonification, and prevention tips.

The homepage features a hero image of the starry night sky at Canyonlands National Park, with a heading designed to influence visitors. Visitors can explore brief information about light pollution, sky sonification, and podcasts as they scroll down.

Style Guide

This is the style guide for the website design, showcasing the list of typeface weights, usage guidelines, and color schemes I employed. It is a comprehensive reference to ensure consistency and coherence throughout the website's visual elements.

Prototype #1

The user can search their state of residence to find information on light pollution laws to follow. After entering their state name and clicking the search icon, another box appears with information on the laws.

Prototype #2

The article and podcast page has a prototype where, when the user hovers their mouse or before clicking the box, different colored boxes with various typefaces appear. Please check the video below!
